Hello everyone! Hope this year will be your best one yet ♥

This is first and foremost a fandom journal. I don't really post on here and use it mostly to keep track of fest I'm interested in and such, but you're always welcome to hit me up to chat. If you're so inclined, I'm way more active on tumblr, which I rediscovered during quarantine as a safe space to enjoy my hobbies, after having almost abandoned it for years.

I'm quite multifandom, but here's a list of the ones I've been more involved in over the years:

Cabin Pressure, Downton Abbey, Games of Thrones, Hannibal NBC, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, MCU, Saiyuki, Sherlock, Welcome to Night Vale.

Nice to meet you too 🙂 I hope you'll enjoy the Snowflake challenge.

I love Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, which I originally read way back when I was nine. I was so totally enthralled in Middle Earth and had to beg my mother to buy me Lord of the Rings for Christmas when I was ten. She wasn't convinced I would get through it at that age so just bought Fellowship of the Ring and said that if I read it she would buy the other two. I do love Harry Potter too, such imagination!

I hope 2021 is a good year for you too.

I read the books as a kid, too. My father was the one who suggested me Tolkien and I was hooked since the very beginning. I've re-read all of them several times, for example before each movie came out. I did enjoy the LOTR trilogy an awful lot, but The Hobbit one was quite a disappointment, mainly beacuse Jackson didn't faithfully follow the book and put too much on the plate.
Did you read also The Silmarillion by chance? It has been sitting on my bookshelf for quite some time now, but so have lots of other unread books 😛

I did have a copy of The Silmarillion and read it many, many years ago but I must have lost it, or accidentally thrown it out during one of my moves. I was a book hoarder as a child and had so many books, but had to weed them over the years and I think it must have been a victim of one of those culls. I'd actually been scouring the second hand and charity shops to see if I could pick up another copy but hadn't been successful. Now of course ... although I could try AmazonSmile for second hand copies I suppose!

Yes, I was really surprised by The Hobbit movies. I thought LotR was done so well and kept to the spirit of the books but he fleshed out The Hobbit with so much extra non-canon stuff that it was hardly the same story!

I, too, have a lot of unread books, although I don't buy as many since I found fan fiction, lol.

My mother did several culls over the years after divorcing, and I was always trying to save some titles, at lest those I hadn't read yet but wanted to.

Sadly I don't have enough space to hoard as many books as I'd like, but my wallet is happier this way. And I do tend to read more fanfiction as well. Which sometimes it's a shame, but it gives me comfort, and I'm way more invested in the story and the characters, as I'm already emotionally connected to them.

Hi! Dropping in from Snowflake. I'm happy to note that one of your fests is smallfandombang. *g* We only share one fandom, though I'm familiar with all of the ones you mentioned. Where does your interest lie in the MCU?

I'm trying to be more involved in fandom, and fests like the smallfandombang offer a fun opportunity. And having a deadline, albeit sometimes stressful, give me focus to actually produce content.

Thor and Guardians of the Galaxy hold the special place in my heart, but I dabble in general in phase one and two of The Infinity Saga. I have high expectations for the Black Widow movie, as she is a love of mine.

Hello! *waves* Sorry for the late reply: I just finished a move and haven't really had time for anything else in the last few weeks.
I feel you for how can be intimidating interacting with new pwople, I'm usually just lurk myself, but I'm trying to be more active, and it can be quite rewarding as you meet some really amazing and diverse people. I've discovered the snowflake challeng is a great opportunity in that sense, I really need to catch up!
